We wanted to thank everyone who attended Christmas for the Critters at Hudson Park in Crawfordville. It was a beautiful day for the event and we had many wonderful animal organizations that joined us this year to make it a huge success. Thanks to Cauzican, Wakulla Animal Services, Redemptive Love Farm, Gulf Specimen Marine Lab, Smitten with Kittens, Tallahassee Museum, Nicholas Petryk and Friends, Wakulla 4-H, and Baileys Treats and Assortments, we learned lots of things about our local critters and many of our furred and feathered friends were in attendance to delight kids of all ages (though I do think the Llamas may have stolen the show!)
Delicious Cajun food was available by Cajun John who sold out by the end of the event. Scrumptious sweet treats were provided by Daniela and Meagan. It was wonderful to see so many families enjoying the animals and decorating a tree or wreath. Front Porch Creations donated beautiful real pine wreaths to decorate along with our trees and they were on hand to help with bows and decorating tips. We sold out of all of our little red cedars though there are still 3 left at ACE Hardware in Crawfordville if you missed the event.
Congratulations to our drawing winners who took home some awesome prizes. This was a very successful event raising over $5000 for FWMA that will all go towards the care of our local injured and orphaned wildlife. This event would not have been possible without our very generous sponsors. Thank you to Prime Meridian Bank, Mingledorff’s, Up To No Good, Kathryn Robinson, The Wakulla News, Up the Creek, Garlick Environmental, Torben and Sarah Madson, Debbie Gilbert, Sanders and Duncan, Bracewell’s Flooring and Fencing, Steve and Kathie Brown, Tri-Eagle Sales, Captain Krista Miller, and MPC Smart Promotions. We wanted to thank all of our dedicated volunteers that helped with the event and allowed everything to go smoothly. A huge thank you to all the attendees for coming out and spending a really fun day with us and for their generosity towards our mission. Hope you will all participate again next year and have a very happy holiday season, from all of us at Florida Wild Mammal Association.
We’ve got land for our expansion plans, but there’s so much more we need to do and we need your help to make it happen. Please take a look at our roadmap, phase by phase, and use the Donate button below to help us expand and care for the animals of our region.
